The Ultimate AllStar

The Top 5 soloists from each division (Division 5 is not eligible) at an OTF Regional Event are invited to compete to be named The Ultimate OTF AllStar in two divisions: 12 and under (male and female) and 13 and over (male and female).

The Ultimate OTF AllStar winner will be awarded a title jacket and the chance to assist at any OTF intensive. They will also receive the opportunity to perform in our SickKids Gala (for 13 & over) and participate in our #Giveback Video Shoot – as well as the opportunity to join us at any following year regional competition to perform their solo in our Ultimate Battle.

Requirements
Dancers must take part in the following:

  1. Solo Competition: 12 and under (male and female) and 13 and over (male and female) dancers compete their qualifying solo from regionals in this separate competition
  2. Workshop Classes: Dancers must take four of the five offered workshop classes
  3. Audition Class: Dancers are required to partake in the mock audition class which will be in ballet and jazz styles
  4. Opening Number: Dancers are required to attend every rehearsal for the Final Battle opening number, unless there are rehearsal conflicts

The Ultimate Finals Battle

The Ultimate Finals Battle will be separated in two divisions: 12 and under and 13 and over. These numbers will be chosen based on what the judges remember as memorable pieces and ones that stand out. To be eligible, a studio must have entered at least 20 entries into the event and seven or more must be group routines. Each routine in The Ultimate Finals Battle must be either a small group, large group, line, or extended line. OTF reserves the right to make adjustments if necessary. For example, if an event has less than 10 studios participating two or more routines per studio might be chosen or OTF may choose a number from a studio who entered less than 20 numbers to fill up the spots in The Ultimate Finals Battle. The battle excludes all pre-competitive, novice, professional, solo, duet, and trio categories and divisions.

* OTF reserves the right to make any necessary changes

Judging

Routines performed at OTF events are judged by a panel of three qualified adjudicators who will award a mark out of 100 points – broken down into the categories of technique and style (60 points) and performance and overall appearance (40 points).
