100 Points
Technique & Style 60% • Performance & Overall Appearance 40%
Routines performed at OTF competitions are judged by a panel of three qualified adjudicators who will award a mark out of 100. The three marks will then be averaged to come up with the final mark for the performance. This could result in numerous routines winning in each award level. Every awards session will include critiques from a special awards judge. This judge will then award various routines based on creativity, technique and a variety of other dance elements.

All Judges’ Choice Awards will be awarded in both the Pre-comp, Novice and Competitive categories
Team Spirit Award (In-Person Events Only)
OTF is all about team spirit. We want to make sure that everyone has a positive and inspiring experience. We believe it is important as a team to work together and support one another while also being respectful to other studios, so the entire OTF staff will choose a studio that shows amazing team spirit throughout the competition. NEW in 2025 Team spirit awards will be voted by studios and will receive a cash award.

Trophies and Medal Donations for our Go Green Initiative
Donation Station
As part of our commitment to sustainability and giving back, we offer a unique opportunity for participants to contribute to our Go Green initiative. Instead of keeping their trophies, medals, and ribbons from the competition, dancers have the option to drop them off at our Donation Station.
How it Works:
Throughout the competition season, participants can choose to donate their trophies, medals, and ribbons at the Donation Station. At the end of the season, the total value of these donated items will be converted into trees that we will plant as part of our Go Green initiative.
Ultimate Battle
By consensus of the judges, the favourite number from each studio will be chosen to perform for our judges at the end of the competition. There will be a battle for 12 and under and 13 and over.
These numbers will be chosen based on what the judges remember as memorable pieces and ones that stand out. A number of criteria will also be kept in mind while choosing these pieces from highest marks, choreography, execution, technique, and overall concept.
To be eligible a studio must have entered at least 20 entries into the competition and 7 or more must be group routines. Each routine in The Ultimate Battle must be either a small group, large group, line, or extended line. On The Floor reserves the right to make adjustments if necessary.
For example, if a weekend only has less than 10 studios participating two or more routines per studio might be chosen or OTF may choose a number from a studio who entered less than 20 numbers to fill up the spots in The Ultimate Battle.
The battle excludes all pre-competitive, novice, professional, solo, duet, and trio categories and divisions
Battle Award
- If there are 3 dances in the battle, one champion will be awarded a Cash Award and award
- If there are 4 dances in the battle, the top 2 will be awarded a Cash Award and award
- If there are 5 or more dances in the battle, the top 3 will be awarded a Cash Award and award
* Must be a minimum of three entries in each battle to proceed with that division in the battle
* OTF reserves the right to make any necessary changes
* OTF reserves the right to make the Ultimate Battle a virtual event
